About Deriv

DerivZone reads charts for products offered by Deriv. Everything below is what Deriv publishes about itself, with a link beside each fact so you can check it yourself.

Who Deriv is

Founder: Jean-Yves Sireau.

Chief Executive Officer: Rakshit Choudhary.

Deriv describes itself as “one of the world's largest online brokers”, offering “CFDs and other derivatives on forex, stocks & indices, cryptocurrencies, commodities, and Derived Indices to millions of registered users across the globe”. deriv.com/who-we-are

That wording is Deriv's own. It publishes no exact number of users, and no founding date.

Certifications it lists: Great Place to Work™, and Platinum in Investors in People.

Where Deriv is licensed

Deriv publishes these licensed entities and registration numbers. A licence number is something you can look up with the regulator — that is the point of printing it. deriv.com/regulatory

Deriv's regulatory page does not say which of these entities offers synthetic indices, so we do not say either. Which entity you deal with depends on your own account — check it in your Deriv account, not here.

What a synthetic index is

Deriv states these instruments are “generated by a cryptographically secure random number generator”. deriv.com/markets/synthetic

They are simulated, so news, market hours and liquidity do not move them: “External news events do not impact the price evolution of Synthetic Indices, and any short-term correlation is purely coincidental.”

They run round the clock, including weekends and public holidays. That is why the tools here can keep reading them at any hour.

What Deriv does NOT publish: any independent audit of that generator. We have not seen one, so we do not claim one exists.

What we read here

Deriv publishes several families of synthetic index. DerivZone's tools read 49 of them, across these groups: Continuous Indices, Crash/Boom Indices, DEX Indices, Drift Switch Indices, Jump Indices, Range Break Indices, Step Indices.

How DerivZone relates to Deriv

DerivZone is not Deriv, is not owned by Deriv, and is not a Deriv product. It is a set of chart-reading tools an Introducing Broker gives his own clients. Nothing here is financial advice or a signal to trade.
